Mycelium + Timber is a project designed by Sebastian Cox and Ninela Ivanova. Contracted to design and build a lab, as well as facilitate the production of Sebastian Cox's mycelium lightshades, Goldbirch was responsible for the growing and production of lights to be sold to clients.
Each light was grown using fungi and wood sourced from their own forest in Kent. Using fungi's ability to bond and integrate organic components, the lights feature a wooden stem and circular strip-wood rim.
Work facilitated in 2018.
