Goldbirch is a Design and Innovation Consultancy providing solutions using Mycelium Composites. Ashley Goldbirch has been working in the field since 2018, providing training, grown bespoke products and designed infrastructure services for mycelium materials in the UK.

WHO ARE WE?
Goldbirch aims to be a hub for mycelium materials; merging craft, design and innovation to explore the potential of fungi in creating natural materials through regenerative processes.
Our expertise spans mycelium composites, design, production facility specifications and workshops all aimed at advancing the mycelium industry for sustainability.
Supported by a network in mycelium biotechnology and academia, we follow our passion to grow and inoculate.
HOW IT STARTED
​What started as a search for sustainable alternatives for product design became a rabbit hole of mycelium and fungi. Through exploring mycelium materials as a new field of craft, Ashley Goldbirch discovered there was more to be done that shouldn't stop there.

Working in the mycelium bio-materials industry for the past 7 years, clients include Biohm, Berghaus, Kingspan and Sebastian Cox, among others. Goldbirch has taught and consulted for both industry, education, and charities to enable open access of fungal-based materials.​
​
Goldbirch represents it's work through both creative project outlets (Interior Design/ Art) as well as commercial projects to explore fungal material applications.
